2017 Annual Creativity in Electronics Awards Announces Lifetime Achievement, Innovation & Education and Speaker of the Year Winners

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Oct. 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) Awards, which showcase the best in today's electronics industry, today announced that tech pioneer Ajay Bhatt, embedded software expert Jacob Beningo and accomplished engineer Daniel Beeker will be honored at this year's awards ceremony, which takes place on Dec. 6, 2017 at the San Jose Convention Center during Embedded Systems Conference (ESC) Silicon Valley. • Ajay Bhatt, Former Chief Architect at Intel – Lifetime Achievement Award recipient

A computer industry pioneer for more than 36 years, Bhatt is the recipient of numerous awards for his contributions to the advancement of science and technology. He is responsible for several widely adopted technologies including Universal Serial Bus (USB), Accelerated Graphics Port (AGP), PCI Express, Thunderbolt, and USB Type-C.

• Jacob Beningo, Embedded Software Consultant – Jim Williams* Innovation and Education Award recipient  

Sponsored by Analog Devices, Inc., one of the world's top multinational developers of analog and digital technology, this award recognizes an engineer who has made a substantial contribution to the field, making Beningo a natural fit. Through his work with clients in more than a dozen countries, Beningo has cemented himself as an expert embedded software developer, having authored more than 200 articles and several books on the subject.

*The Innovation and Education Award is named for Jim Williams, a former staff scientist at Linear Technology for nearly 30 years. He was named Innovator of the Year by EDN Magazine in 1992 and elected to the Electronic Design Hall of Fame in 2002. Williams was considered a legendary analog circuit designer, problem solver, writer, and mentor to many engineers until his passing in June 2011.

• Daniel Beeker, principal engineer, NXP Semiconductor – Speaker of the Year Award recipient

With more than 40 years of experience, Beeker specializes in microprocessor and microcontroller development tools. He is a principal engineer at NXP Semiconductor, one of the world's top chip manufacturers for the automotive industry. NXP recently partnered with a subsidiary of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to develop government policies and practices for the future of intelligent vehicles in China.
