Wilson is no stranger to Light Reading, having joined the title previously in 2009 and subsequently fulfilling a number of roles as a senior member of the editorial and events teams until March 2013.
Now, following a few successful months at The TeleManagement Forum (TM Forum), Wilson is returning to Light Reading to be part of a major overhaul of the publication as it unveils a new design, additional multimedia functionality, and greater engagement with the global communications industry community.
As part of the overhaul, Wilson will be the Dean of the Light Reading University, which will offer online courses on key industry developments.
"I'm delighted to have Carol back on the team and being part of the 'new' Light Reading. She has the knowledge, skills, personality, and contacts that make her a major asset," stated Light Reading Editor-in-Chief Ray Le Maistre. "In addition, her knowledge of North American contact sports and dedication to the Chicago Blackhawks, one of the National Hockey League's big hitters, makes Wilson invaluable in sports quizzes."
"I'm excited about the plans for Light Reading and the opportunity to be part of the team that reinvents the telecom trade press. I think what the Light Reading team has planned will bring additional relevance to what has long been the telecom industry's best source of news, analysis, and strategic information," said Wilson.
"Carol's reputation speaks for itself," said Stephen Saunders, Managing Director of UBM DeusM and Light Reading founder, "as does her decision to return to the Light Reading fold at this pivotal juncture in our community's history. I'm delighted to be working with her again."
Wilson returns to Light Reading on July 8, just as Light Reading's new-look debuts. The revamped site will employ the content management system and proven operational strategies of DeusM, an integrated marketing services company owned by UBM. DeusM builds and operates highly engaged communities of qualified users within specialist B2B markets using a strategy of best-practices focused on content and technology.
