CMP Media today announced that its Electronics Supply & Manufacturing Global Supply Chain Summit will be held October 24-26, 2005 at the Fairmont Hotel San Jose. The annual conference will bring together industry leaders and features three days of keynotes, presentations, and panels that address the strategies and tactics necessary for electronics companies to build successful global supply chains.
Attendees to this year's summit will learn the latest practices and trends impacting the global supply chain, including best-in-class case studies from leading companies across the electronics industry. Presentations will help conference-goers understand how to select and manage global supply chain partners, implement technologies and business processes such as PLM, RFID, Lean and Six-Sigma, prepare for RoHS, WEEE and "green" compliance, and gain insight into the most useful metrics to gauge supply network performance.
"We have assembled an elite group of executives and the most sought-after thought leaders in the world of supply chain management for this year's conference," said Paul Miller, vice president and group publisher of the CMP Media Electronics Group. "Attendees will learn about the hottest global trends affecting the industry, and receive strategic insight, tools and relationship building opportunities to strengthen the value of their global supply network."
Speakers from companies like Cisco, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Intel, iSuppli, and Microsoft will lead discussions on key topics crucial for managers at original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), electronics manufacturing services (EMS) providers, and suppliers, both large and small, from across the electronics industry. Presentations include "Building Value Through Best Practices in Environmental Compliance", "Outlook for Electronics: Trends Affecting your Global Supply Chain", "How Wall Street Values Global Supply Chain Performance" and "Electronics Industry Code of Conduct: Creating a Global Standard." This year's Summit will be moderated by Dr. Hau Lee, Thomas Professor of Operations, Information and Technology, Graduate School of Business, Stanford University, and Bruce Rayner, Editor-in-Chief, Electronics Supply & Manufacturing.
The Global Supply Chain Summit will feature several keynote addresses on important topics affecting the industry today:

In conjunction with this year's summit, Electronics Supply & Manufacturing will present the 2005 Supply & Design Chain Champions Awards, recognizing innovators who have made great strides in their supply and design chain practices and have the results to prove it. Every year, Electronics Supply & Manufacturing solicits nominations from readers, and its editors review and select five outstanding case studies for publication in the November issue of the magazine. This year, the winners will be announced and awarded at the Global Supply Chain Summit.
