CMP Media's Electronics Group announced today the launch of a new and enhanced EE Times Online (eetimes.com). For more than 10 years, EE Times Online has been the de facto online news and information source for the creators of technology.
"We are very excited to unveil this completely new Web site. EE Times Online is one of the largest trafficked media sites in the technology space," said Paul Miller, VP/Group Publisher, CMP Media Electronics Group. "The re-design was truly driven by the changing needs of the electronics industry and our readers. It includes information that they need every day to help them do their job, such as an increased emphasis on breaking news from around the industry and across the globe, easier navigation, and gateway links to new product information and design solutions. In addition, our readers will continue to see the weekly print version of EE Times that delves deeper and provides insights and analysis on the breaking stories seen every day online."
The news operations of EE Times Online, Silicon Strategies (SiliconStrategies.com) and EEdesign (EEdesign.com) have been combined into a single news center to provide users with a comprehensive look at the latest news in the industry. The new home page features a re-designed, easy-to-navigate news section divided into three distinct areas: A lead section with top headlines from around the industry; semiconductor industry news powered by Silicon Strategies (SiliconStrategies.com); and EEdesign (EEdesign.com), a section providing the latest news shaping IC design and the EDA sector. There are also links to global news from EE Times Online's local language sites such as EE Times France, EE Times Germany, EE Times China, and EE Times Japan.
Also featured on the home page are the latest new product stories posted to EE Times Online's sister site, eeProductCenter (eeProductCenter.com). Alongside these are links directly to detailed, technical how-to articles posted to Planet Analog, Embedded.com, CommsDesign.com and targeted DesignLines in areas such as automotive, power management, wireless networks, and video and imaging.
On secondary pages of EE Times Online, news stories are now broken down into six distinct categories: business, financial, technology, products, semiconductor and consumer. The Semiconductor News sub-page of the site provides all of the features formerly powered by SiliconStrategies.com, and the EEdesign section sub-page now provides all of the features formerly provided on eeDesign.com.
EE Times Online continues to provide gated access to the print edition of EE Times. Stories in this section are updated every Monday morning to coincide with publication of the weekly issue.
The new EE Times Online also offers an RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feed that allows users to automatically have the latest headlines from EE Times Online delivered to their desktop.
Also being introduced in conjunction with the Web site launch is a revamped EE Times Newsletter. This daily newsletter highlights top news stories on EE Times Online and also provides links to news, new products and how-to design information from EE Times Online's sister sites in North America and around the world.
