EE Times Group, a UBM company and the daily source of essential business and technology news, analysis and intelligence for the electronics industry's decision makers, today unveiled the technologies featured in its popular "Build Your Own Embedded Systems" (BYOES) Workshops at ESC Boston 2010 to be held September 20 -23, 2010 at the Hynes Convention Center, Boston. Available free of charge to all paid event registrants, each workshop comprises a series of limited seating classes focusing on key aspects of embedded systems designs using the featured technologies.
BYOES Hands-on Workshop Track 1: BeagleBoard, Windows Embedded Compact 7 http://esc-boston.techinsightsevents.com/ti_beagleboard
Attendees join the BeagleBoard and Microsoft communities for two days of embedded systems training with Windows Embedded Compact 7, the new version of Windows CE, Microsoft's real time, small footprint, componentized OS, providing hands-on training and an in-depth study into the world of ARM System-on-Chip (SoC) programming with the BeagleBoard, a community-driven single-board computer and into the development tools used to design, deploy, debug an embedded OS and build applications on top of it.
BYOES Hands-on Workshop Track 2: Freescale Tower http://esc-boston.techinsightsevents.com/freescale_tower
Attendees learn how to take their embedded systems designs to the next level with the Freescale Tower System featuring interchangeable and reusable modules along with open source design files for design customization. This workshop introduces attendees to a basic Tower System in the first class followed by hands-on training classes featuring additional Tower System modules.
Paid conference attendees may attend this workshop for no additional charge. A limited supply of Freescale Tower design kits will be available at no cost to the first 80 Workshop attendees who must be present to receive the kit.
"As in previous years, the ESC Boston 2010 BYOES Workshops give embedded systems designers unprecedented access to the industry's leading development technologies," said David Blaza, vice president of Events and Embedded Systems, EE Times Group. "Historically, BYOES Workshops have kick-started many exciting electronic product developments because engineers leave the sessions armed with design knowledge they can deploy immediately for their own specific applications."
