Communication Systems Design, the monthly magazine for OEM design engineers and managers involved in the development of communication systems, announced today the 20 inaugural recipients of its first annual Comet awards. The Comet awards recognize up and coming communications technology companies that have demonstrated superior achievement by virtue of their technical vision, innovation and risk-taking. The award winners will be prominently featured in the September issue.
"We're proud to introduce the Comets as an annual event," said Communication Systems Design Editor-in-Chief Robert Keenan. "We developed the Comet awards to recognize the achievements of emerging companies that introduce significant technical advances that will fundamentally affect the communications industry. Comets are fast-rising companies that may very well become the next Cisco, Nokia or Texas Instruments. Our hope is for these awards to become a barometer of where the industry is headed."
The Comet award winners were selected by a panel of editors from three industry publications: Communication Systems Design, Embedded Systems Programming and EE Times. In addition to write-ups describing their achievements in the pages of the September issue of Communication Systems Design, the companies will be presented with an award befitting the honor and recognition of the Comets.
