CMP Technology's Electronics Group today announced the launch of EE Times Europe Online (http://www.eetimes.eu/) to bring comprehensive news, technology and product information via English and local-language editions to the creators of technology in Europe. The Web site and newsletter are the initial offering of the EE Times Europe integrated media product announced in April that will be complete when the print and digital editions launch in September 2006 delivering both global and local news and analysis.
"Our editorial mission is being remolded in the image of the technologically and geographically connected industry we serves," said Richard Wallace, vice president and editorial director of the CMP Technology Electronics Group. "With the launch of EE Times Europe, European engineers are set to benefit from the global reach of the EE Times global community, while EE Times readers worldwide will benefit from the resources we are now focusing on Europe."
EE Times Europe Editorial Director Peter Clarke serves as the online news editor and leads a dedicated team of experienced journalists and contributors across Europe. The site is the first and most geographically diverse technology news resource for the electronics industry launched under the new ".eu" classification from EURid, the European Registry of Internet Domain Names.
Existing, news-only local language editions covering Germany (eetimes.de), France (eetimes.fr), the UK (eetimesUK.com) and Scandinavia (ElectronikiNorden.com) have been consolidated into the new site, and new local language editions for Israel, Eastern Europe and Russia have been added. In addition to the existing weekly, regional newsletters for German, France and the UK, a new pan-European, five-times per week EE Times Europe Newsletter was launched on June 19. Edited by John Walko, the EE Times Europe Newsletter reaches over 23,000 engineers across the 25-member European Union and additional readers in 15 contiguous and non-contiguous EU countries, including Israel and Turkey.
EE Times Europe Online is designed to deliver both global and local information with extensive editorial additions and expanded advertising real estate. The site features global and regional news and analysis in a mix of local languages and English, a New Products section, and 13 new "Index" pages covering a range of important topics, such as automotive, consumer electronics and wireless.
The bi-weekly, English-only EE Times Europe print and digital editions will launch September 2006 and will have an initial circulation of 55,000, making it the largest electronics industry news publication in Europe. Editorial content will include locally generated European staff copy as well as coverage and analysis from the US version of EE Times, and material translated from the China and Japan editions of EE Times. The existing Electronics-Express monthly tabloid will become the product section and will be integrated online as the New Products section.
EE Times (http://www.eetimes.com/) is the world's most widely read and respected source of news and information for the global electronics industry. Through regional editions EE Times reach now extends to over 300,000 readers in print and serves an online audience of over 1,000,000 readers worldwide across North America, Europe, China, Korea, Taiwan, Asia and Japan.
Peter Clarke reports into Richard Wallace, a 30-year industry veteran, who is leading the launch of EE Times Europe. Other members of the editorial team consist of Christoph Hammerschmidt in Germany; Colin Holland and John Walko in the UK; Henri Arnold and Jean-Pierre Joosting in Belgium; and Anne-Francoise Pele in France. In addition to its dedicated news team, EE Times Europe draws upon editorial contributions from around the world and across Europe, including contributing editorial agreements with Electronik i Norden in Sweden; Technologies Magazine in Israel; and Electronintorg.com in Russia that bring exclusive content to readers from these key, emerging technology centers.
