UBM Electronics' CEO Paul Miller Invited to Teach at American Business Media's B-to-B Advanced Leadership Program

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- UBM Electronics, a UBM company and the daily source of essential business and technical information for the electronics industry's decision makers, today announced that CEO, Paul Miller has been invited to teach at American Business Media's B-to-B Advanced Leadership program at Kellogg/Medill, Northwestern University, which will take place January 8-12, 2012 in Evanston, IL.
Miller will present the education module "Audience Marketing: Tying Your Product Strategy to Audience Needs" on Tuesday, January 10 at 1:00 p.m. He will discuss how media companies have evolved in terms of audience development from controlled circulation and subscriptions to online; how to put the audience at the center of a company's strategy; how to embrace audience changes through acquisitions; how to use audience metrics; how to gather new audiences and the technologies that enable this; how to use audience knowledge to develop new products; how social media impact a media brand's relationship with its audiences; and how lead generation affects audiences.

ABM's B-to-B Advanced Leadership Program provides future leaders with a high-level, cross-functional view of the media business. The objective of this intensive and focused educational program is to provide participants with a strategic framework and practical tools for accelerating their company's evolution.
The program draws on three streams of expertise -- Academic acumen from top professors at Northwestern University's Media Management Center, the Kellogg School of Management and the Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications, professional thought leadership is provided by some of the b-to-b media industry's savviest executives, who have been tested and proven successful in the areas they are teaching and the participants themselves represent the third stream.
The B-to-B Advanced Leadership Program is intended for future industry leaders and those currently responsible for finding and building new business lines and revenue streams, business and strategic planning, P&Ls, making operational decisions, driving significant change, etc.
Miller is the CEO of UBM Electronics and UBM Canon publishing group. In addition, Miller is a board member of the eMedia Asia Joint Venture (a Global Sources and UBM joint venture producing EE Times print and online and events in China, Korea, Taiwan and ASEAN) and a board member of Design & Reuse, an IP Catalog information company headquartered in Grenoble, France.
Miller has held many positions in electronics media and information area since joining UBM as European sales manager for Electronic World News in London in the early 1990s. In 1993, Miller moved to New York as regional sales manager for EE Times. After becoming Eastern Regional Sales Manager, National Sales Manager and Associate Publisher of EE Times, Miller was the Managing Director of the online network. Miller returned to EE Times as publisher in October 1999 moving onto Vice President and Senior Vice President roles responsible for running the Electronics and Software Groups. Miller was also Group President overseeing five UBM divisions.
Miller graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in England with a B.A. (Hons) Degree in Communication Studies and is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (ACIM). In 1991 he graduated Croydon College in London with a Diploma in Marketing (DipM) from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Miller is currently a guest lecturer at Santa Clara University on the topic of Marketing.
