UBM Tech's DesignCon Conference Manager Named to IAEE's 2012 20 under 30 Program

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- UBM Tech, the global leader in technology media and business information, today announced that Katie Stern, Conference Manager, DesignCon, has been named to the IAEE's 2012 20 under 30 program. The new program was designed to bring 20 young professionals to Expo! Expo! IAEE's Annual Meeting & Exhibition in Orlando, FL, December 4-6, 2012.

The program, sponsored by the Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Austin Convention Center, provides industry education for professional growth in the exhibitions and events industry and helps participants establish a stronger career path and become highly-valued employees based on the opportunities and connections at Expo! Expo!.

Stern has been focusing on building the educational program for DesignCon for the past two years. Due to her significant contributions, she was recently promoted to Conference Manager coordinating and overseeing all activities of the event. She joined UBM Tech as the Content Program Manager. Prior, she was employed with Infocom Group/Bulldog Reporter and PR University; Embassy Suites Portland – Washington Square; The Walt Disney Company; Gaylord Entertainment, Four Seasons Tours and the University of Oregon. Stern earned a MS degree from the University of Central Florida and a BS from Nova Southeastern University.
DesignCon 2013 is scheduled to take place January 28-31, 2013 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.
