BOSTON, Oct. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- LTE subscriptions in Latin America are expected to grow at a CAGR of 105.6 percent between 2013 and 2018, reaching 71 million subscriptions in 2018. In order to capture latent opportunities for LTE, there are different region-specific challenges and constraints that operators must overcome, according to a new report from Pyramid Research (www.pyr.com).

"As of August 2013, 25 LTE networks had been commercially launched in Latin America," says Guillermo Hurtado, Analyst at Pyramid Research. "For operators that are seeking to deploy or are already operating LTE networks, success and profitability are contingent on understanding and acknowledging the specific opportunities that exist in each Latin American market and overcoming the sometimes unique challenges," he explains. "In the short term, supply constraints like regulations, backhaul capacity and network coverage have the greatest impact on the development of LTE. To get a critical mass of subscribers, demand constraints such as device affordability, pricing and monetization grow in significance."
Latin America LTE Spectrum Trends, Network and Business Considerations, and Demand Forecast is part of Pyramid Research's Latin America Insider Report Series and is priced at $1195.
