Leaders from all sectors of the software development arena will converge in Boston at the end of the month to share new product and service developments, opinions, and business opportunities. Produced by CMP Media's SD Events Group, SD Web Services World has quickly gained momentum due to a high-level exhibitor base as well as the participation of the industry's top Web services and development strategists.

The five-day event, taking place August 27-31 at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, has grabbed the attention of Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Oracle, Rational, Computer Associates and Sun Microsystems, who among others are exhibiting and sponsoring this twice-a-year event. Microsoft Corporation also signed on as a Gold sponsor and will be hosting an exhibitor party on Wednesday evening, August 29. The participation of these premier corporations validates SD Web Services World as the must-attend event in the software development sector. New to the event lineup are Cast Software, Perforce Software, and Symbio Group.

"Even as companies scrutinize which events to attend, companies continue to choose to exhibit and unveil new products and services at SD Web Services World because it is the top conference hub for the software development sector," said Mike Gottlieb, show director for CMP Media's SD Events Group. "Word is quickly spreading about the Boston Expo floor and the fact that it will offer participants a preeminent opportunity to view the industry's most progressive technologies, share knowledge and network."

A sampling of exhibitors presenting new products at the event include:

-- Cape Clear Studio will unveil its new CapeStudio product, which enables the rapid development of Web Services clients in VB and Java. CapeStudio also provides a simple graphical environment for the generation of XML and SOAP transformations in XSLT.

-- InCert Software Corporation will be showcasing its new Traceback for Java that gives users a better, more powerful and faster way to debug Java. The product's patented binary instrumentation technology captures the complete execution of entire programs with a fraction of debugger or IDE overhead.

-- LearningPatterns.com Inc. will be previewing LearningPatterns.com, which offers Web-based skills assessment in three key technical areas: Java, Object-Oriented Programming, and XML. The site goes beyond surface testing while being easy to administer and measuring whether developers can actually use the technology in question.

-- The publication of "The Guide to Translation and Localization - Preparing Products for the Global Marketplace" (third edition) will be announced by Lingo Systems and the Localization Industry Standards Association. The 86-page guide covers all the steps necessary for mastering the localization process.

-- OC Systems will be previewing the Windows version of RootCause, a "flight recorder" that traces the execution of an application as it runs. The product speeds problem resolution, lowers support costs and increases system availability.

-- ParaSoft will release version 4.0 of CodeWizard, an automatic coding standards enforcement tool for C/C++. New features include updated rules for embedded development, bringing the total number of built-in rules and standards to more than 240, as well as increased functionality in its customized rule creation.

-- Attendees can visit the Rainbow Technologies booth to view its newest development, SentinelLM. This complete electronic license management solution for secure software licensing and distribution via the Internet allows users to expand distribution channels and increase revenue potential.

-- Shinka Technologies will be showcasing, for the first time, version 1.3 of its business integration platform. A few of the new capabilities include a platform reach on both C++ and Visual basic Server, the support of C++ on Windows as well as a new framework for message interceptors that enables access to incoming XML messages within the processing queue on a server.

-- TeamShare Inc. will preview its TeamTrack workflow engine that enhances process management, speeds resolution and encourages collaboration within and across enterprises. Its product suite consists of tTrack, a defect and development management solution, and tSupport, a support center solution that incorporates customer participation.
