CMP's InformationWeek Expands Sales Management Team

John Murphy Named InformationWeek's National Sales Manager; Matt Avery Adds National Sales Manager of Events to Responsibilities; Rob Cascarino joins as Southwest Regional Director

CMP's InformationWeek today announced a series of promotions and additions to its sales management team. John Murphy has been promoted to National Sales Manager from Western Regional Director. Matt Avery has been tapped as National Sales Manager, Events, to lead sales for InformationWeek's booming events business, in addition to his current role as Regional Director of the New York/Southeast regions. Rob Cascarino will join the InformationWeek sales management team as Southwest Regional Director. Together, along with Brian Glynn, Northeastern Regional Director, this team represents more than 25 years of expertise and knowledge of the business technology marketplace.

InformationWeek also announced plans to hire four more sales managers; two will focus on events and two will focus on new business development.

John Murphy is an eleven-year veteran of the IT industry with 6 years spent at CMP. After being named InformationWeek Salesperson of the Year in 1997, Murphy helped launch InformationWeek's growing events business. In 1998, he played a key role in CMP's sales structure reorganization to the Customer First model as the group's Northwest Regional Director. Murphy rejoined InformationWeek as its Regional Director, West in September 1999. As National Sales Manager, Murphy will be responsible for all sales efforts across the brand.

Another 6-year CMP veteran, Matt Avery was named Salesperson of the Year for Computer Reseller News' MAX interactive product in 1995. Avery joined InformationWeek in 1996, and in 1999 was tapped to lead its Events team. During that time, Avery doubled InformationWeek's Events business. In May 2000, Avery was promoted to Regional Director of the New York and Southeast regions. As National Sales Manager, Events, Avery's responsibilities will expand to include a leadership role focused on the burgeoning InformationWeek Events business.

To add further strength and depth to this management team, Business Technology Group Account Director Rob Cascarino has been named InformationWeek Regional Director, Southwest. Rob joined InformationWeek in 1998 and was named Southwest Rookie of the Year and, six months later, was promoted to Account Director within CMP's Business Technology Group. Rob's expertise and sales experience in print, online, events and new business development make him a valuable addition to the InformationWeek Sales Management team.
