TechWeb's Light Reading Communications Network (www.lightreading.com), the leading integrated publishing, events, and research company serving the global communications marketplace, today announced that it has acquired RCR Wireless' database of more than 60,000 qualified email addresses. The company plans to use the list to fuel growth for the Webinars, events and Website of Unstrung, Light Reading's authority on wireless communications technologies, and for research services from Heavy Reading and Pyramid Research.
"For years RCR Wireless was the leading print brand in the mobile space, with a powerful database of mobile carrier executives, vendors, and other industry stakeholders," said Joseph Braue, SVP and Group Director of Light Reading. "Now that these decision makers are part of the Light Reading community, they will have access to an unparalleled set of global, integrated media, research, and information resources."
Light Reading's Unstrung (www.unstrung.com) is the authority on the wireless industry, with a unique focus on the industry's move to the new 4G networks. The brand has an established, respected editorial team, including Site Editor Dan Jones, who consistently breaks the news that drives this marketplace, and International Mobile Industry Editors Ray LeMaistre and Michelle Donegan. The robust Unstrung editorial offering includes expert commentary on industry trends from Heavy Reading and Pyramid Research mobile analysts. Light Reading is in discussions with RCR editors about writing for the site and contributing news and thoughtful analysis on the wireless industry.
RCR Wireless was the leading print publication in the mobile space until it was closed in early March. The RCR Wireless brand was recently acquired by Arden Media, which produces a telecom careers site and which has announced plans to continue the RCR online brand with new content, but focus it on "relevant industry employment information."
In addition to Unstrung's complimentary news service, Light Reading will offer the former RCR Wireless audience access to a complete range of integrated media products serving the global mobile industry, including:
-- Leading research reports on key mobile business and technology issues such as the transition to new LTE/4G technology and the latest mobile backhaul trends from Heavy Reading analysts Patrick Donegan and Gabriel Brown -- Major reports on mobile broadband technology and applications around the world by Pyramid Research's worldwide staff of analysts, who are the leaders in providing market growth and analysis for the communications industry's top emerging markets. -- Light Reading's June 11 Mobile 2012 Virtual Conference, the mobile industry's largest-ever virtual conference, with 10 sponsors and a registered attendance of more than 1,000 mobile carriers and industry executives ( http://www.lightreading.com/mobile2012) -- And participation in a number of focused mobile industry events such as: -- Tower Summit @ CTIA, the largest exposition and conference focusing on the cellular tower industry and the companies that serve it. -- The mobile industry's first Policy Management and Deep Packet Inspection Conference, produced at this year's CTIA -- Two Mobile Backhaul Shows: Mobile Backhaul Atlanta, which took place in May 2009, and Mobile Backhaul New York, which is scheduled for September 22, 2009
"We are thrilled at this opportunity to expand our footprint by offering access to our deep, diverse, and global content to such a qualified audience," added Braue.
