Light Reading Announces Meet the Editors and Telecom Analysts 'Speed Dating' Reception in Barcelona During Mobile World Congress

Just in time for Valentine's Day, TechWeb's Light Reading (www.lightreading.com), the leading research-led media company serving the global communications marketplace, is borrowing a concept from the dating scene and announcing a new "Speed Dating" reception during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, where industry vendors will be able to give three-minute "elevator" pitches to six of Light Reading's top editors and analysts.
The Speed Dating event, scheduled for Feb. 17, a few blocks away from the Fira where the MWC is being held, will allow harried industry executives to quickly communicate their newest product or company strategies in one-on-one sessions with two Light Reading editors, two Heavy Reading Analysts, and two Pyramid Research analysts. Vendor executives will have a three-minute slot to chat up their newest technology or product or unload their latest strategy and then move on to their next "date."
The editors on hand will be Ray LeMaistre, International Managing Editor of Light Reading, and Dan Jones who drives Light Reading's mobile news coverage. From Heavy Reading comes Berge Ayvazian, the former Yankee Group CEO who is now heading a 4G Consulting Practice at Heavy Reading, and Patrick Donegan, the leading analyst covering mobile technology infrastructure. From Pyramid Research, Gabriela Baez, Managing Director of Global Research, and Analyst Stela Bokun, Pyramid's European telecom markets specialist, will be there to meet industry executives.
"It's rare that we get our editors and analysts in one place and that our communications industry customers will actually be guaranteed face time with all of them at once," says Joseph Braue, SVP/Group Director of Light Reading. "It's real efficient for clients, and it's a unique way to have a little fun at the show. And you know what they say about new product messaging: If you can't say it in an elevator ride, you haven't crystallized the message."
The Speed Dating portion will comprise the first hour of the reception. A cocktail reception will follow, allowing clients who weren't able to participate in the Speed Dating to mingle with Light Reading, Heavy Reading, and Pyramid Research's editors and analysts.
Light Reading plans to hold additional Meet the Editors Speed Dating receptions at CTIA Wireless in March and the Cable Show in May. These receptions are invitation only. For more information contact:
