Today TechWeb announced the winners of the 19th annual Jolt Product Excellence and Productivity Awards at a gala award ceremony at Software Development West 2009 Conference and Expo (SD West), held at the Santa Clara Convention Center. The ceremony was hosted by Andrew Binstock, Technology Analyst, Columnist, Editor and Jolt Judge. The Hall of Fame award was presented to Compuware DevPartner by C.J. Rapp, the president and CEO of JOLT's parent company Wet Planet Beverages. Complete Jolt Awards details are available at http://www.joltawards.com/.
For the past 18 years, the Jolt Product Excellence Awards have been presented annually to products and books that have "jolted" the industry with their significance and made the task of creating software faster, easier, and more efficient. The awards presentation is sponsored by JOLT, the fabled soft drink quaffed by software developers for sustenance during project development marathons. Jolt Productivity Awards are awarded to those that came in a close second to the winners.
"This year was an exceptionally exciting year for our judges, because there were so many strong contenders in every category," said Amber Ankerholz, Jolt Award project manager. "The winners reflect the great innovations thriving in the industry today, and it was especially satisfying to see industry leaders as well as newcomers changing how developers work by giving them great new products that reflect the changing software development landscape."
