TechWeb today announced the launch of Cloud Connect, a premier technology event for defining, framing, developing, and transitioning business IT portfolios to the cloud. Cloud Connect will take place January 20-22, 2009 at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, CA. For more information or to register, visit http://www.cloudconnectevent.com/.
Cloud Connect will bring together business decision makers and developers to explore firsthand the many issues surrounding the transition of some, or ultimately all, of their information technology to cloud-based applications and platforms. The event will examine critical aspects of cloud computing through a combination of product information, hands-on learning and networking opportunities. The event will follow a learn-develop-demo framework, beginning with an evening reception styled as a customer visit and ending with "Demos Over Dinner," an opportunity for attendees to view the solutions that were developed on-site as a result of their participation in Cloud Connect.
"As organizations look to extract more efficiencies out of their IT portfolios, they will no doubt be forced to consider cloud computing given the benefits of automatic scaling, financial predictability of subscription-based models and reduction of on-premises IT complexity," said David Berlind, Co-Creator of Cloud Connect. "Cloud Connect will not only prove that these benefits are extensible to more of a business' IT portfolio than most realize, it will give business decision makers a chance to roll up their sleeves and to get up-close-and-personal with the most important cloud computing platforms."
Cloud Connect is part of a cloud computing event series produced by TechWeb, intended to define and frame cloud computing discussions for business technology executives and developers. The series kicked off in June 2008, with the highly successful "Evening in the Cloud" during Enterprise 2.0. For more information, visit http://www.cloudconnectevent.com/.
