Web 2.0 Expo Berlin 2007, co-produced by O'Reilly Media, Inc. and CMP, has concluded its inaugural European gathering of technical, design, marketing, and business professionals. Approximately 2,000 attendees from 50 countries participated, and the conference welcomed valuable support from industry leaders like Nokia, Reply, Sun and Adobe.
Web 2.0 Expo Berlin 2007's agenda reflected current issues in the Web community. Conference sessions covered topics such as VC investment, social networking standards, and the evolution of the new media landscape, which led to heated debates onsite and on various blogs and social community sites created around the event. In addition, executives from Microsoft, Nokia and Netvibes, as well as industry experts such as Kathy Sierra, Jesse James Garrett, Don Tapscott and Rod Beckstrom provided insights into business strategies and examples of design and development paradigms that are moving and evolving the world of the Web.
Reshma Sohoni, CEO of SeedCamp, commented, "Seedcamp was particularly happy to be a part of the Web 2.0 Expo: the organizers showed great openness and interest in supporting new organizations and initiatives for start-ups. Seedcamp will continue to support the Web 2.0 Expo in creating a forum for European start-ups."
Web 2.0 Expo continued its momentum in 2007 at Web 2.0 Expo Tokyo November 15-16, and will host Web 2.0 Expo San Francisco April 22-25, 2008 and Web 2.0 Expo New York in September 2008. Dates and locations for Web 2.0 Expo in Europe 2008 will be announced soon.
