The event highlights the startup ecosystem's creativity and variety, giving conference attendees and judges Joanne Wilson and Mo Koyfman a chance to vote on their favorites and give feedback. "The Startup Showcase was a major success last year, prompting us to bring it back again," said Sarah Milstein, Web 2.0 Expo Co-Chair and UBM TechWeb General Manager. "The proposals were very competitive, and we're please to offer a platform for startups who are poised for more exposure."
Web 2.0 Expo focuses on local companies from the growing New York tech scene and also features startups from other emerging tech markets. Attendees will have 60 minutes to see the product demos. As they walk around, attendees will vote on their favorites. At the end of the hour, investor Joanne Wilson and Mo Koyfman, Principal at Spark Capital, will announce top picks and the audience favorite. These three startups will each give a one-minute pitch and will have a short time onstage to get the judges' feedback. The Startup Showcase happens Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 5:20.
This year's Web 2.0 Expo will reveal the key pieces of the digital economy and the ways to leverage important ideas for success.
