Pyramid's Sonia Jorge to Speak at The World Telecommunication/ICT Indicators Meeting

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Sept. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Pyramid Research's Sonia Jorge will be presenting "Gender and ICT: Identifying sources of data and proposed indicators" at The 10th World Telecommunication/ICT Indicators Meeting taking place in Bangkok, September 25-27, 2012.

The presentation will address latest progress on measuring gender and ICT, identify challenges and promising outcomes from different sources of data, and propose a set of gender sensitive indicators to be part of the overall efforts to measure the development and impact of the ICT sector. Sonia and other participating panelists and experts will make concrete proposals on how to enhance the availability of comparable data on ICT and gender in countries and at the international level.

The WTIM will focus on national coordination of ICT statistics, the identification of new metrics to measure broadband traffic, pricing and capacity, gender-related ICT indicators, among other critical themes. The meeting is primarily targeted at those responsible for ICT statistics in relevant Ministries, regulatory agencies, telecommunication operating companies and national statistical offices.
