Apr 15, 2013

NEW YORK, April 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- UBM's Future Cities site was honored this morning at the min's 2013 Best of the Web Awards Breakfast with two min's Best of Web Awards for Best New Site and Best Infographic for UBM's Future Cities original graphic, "Our Urban Planet."

UBM's Future Cities launched October 15, 2012 as the first global, online b2b community for 21st century urban decision makers, dedicated to covering business, sustainability, and solutions. Future Cities has been extremely successful in its first few months of launch, enlisting a blogosphere of 150+ world-renowned sustainability experts producing 776 pieces of original content comprising: 333 blogs, 62 video blogs, 44 city diaries, 186 photos, 114 cartoons, 14 infographics, 8 reports, 4 original pieces of research, and 11 live online events. This incredible quantity of original content has generated 1,874,894 page views, 11,021 site registrants, and 9,201 message board posts in just six months.

min's Best of the Web Awards is the industry's top honor in the digital space, recognizing outstanding websites and digital initiatives among consumer and b2b magazines. UBM's Future Cities was up against steep competition, beating out Condenasttraveler.com and Hearst Digital Media's shopBazaar.com, among others, for Best New Site. It won against Financial Times for Best Infographic.

"We are thrilled and humbled to receive these awards today – six months to the date after our launch," said Nicole Ferraro, Editor in Chief of UBM's Future Cities. "We share these accolades with our incredible community members who show up day after day to engage in insightful and productive discussions about the future of cities all over the world. We look forward to many more successes and celebrations in the months and years to come."
