UBM Tech's Patrick Mannion Promoted to Vice President/Brand Director Electronics Group

Veteran Journalist Focused on Growth of the Electronics Brands

SAN FRANCISCO, July 1, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- UBM Tech today announced that Patrick Mannion has been promoted to Vice President/Brand Director Electronics Group.  In this newly created role, Mannion will be responsible for the direction and growth of all of the company's electronics brands, which serves design engineers and the electronics industry with essential business and technical information.  He will ensure seamless communication across editorial, marketing and sales to guarantee effective execution of current and future programs. Mannion will now report to Scott Mozarsky, President, Media and Partner Solutions.

Mannion will be responsible for all of the electronics brands robust communities including EETimes.com, EDN.com, Embedded.com TechOnline as well as the Community Activation Platform (CAP) and Community in a Box (CiaB) programs created by UBM DeusM, the integrated marketing services arm of UBM. In addition, Mannion will collaborate with the UBM Tech events team to ensure a seamless community experience from online to events for DESIGN West and DesignCon.

Mannion has over 20 years of editorial experience in the electronics OEM media industry.  Mannion was previously Brand Director, EDN, Test & Measurement World, and Embedded.com as well as UBM Tech's portfolio of education and training products, including fundamentals, white papers, and webinars.  Earlier he was Content Director for EDN and Designlines.  Previously, Mannion was the Director of Content at Hearst Electronics Group. During his previous ten year tenure with UBM, Mannion was responsible for the editorial direction of UBM Electronics' design and products network, for both online and print, which included the Designline network, PlanetAnalog, CommsDesign.com and EE Times' Design and Products sections, as well as editorial webinars, educational courses, the "Fundamentals of…" series and the Under the Hood print/online teardown series. Prior, Mannion served as the editor and an executive editor of EE Times.  Earlier in his career, Mannion served as communications editor at Electronic Design magazine and a staff editor with Electronic Products magazine. Mannion earned electronic engineering degrees from the Sligo Institute of Technology and Dundalk Institute of Technology, both in Ireland.
