CMP Media Promotes Brian Fuller to Publisher of EE Times

22-Year Veteran Journalist Moves into Business Role from Top Editorial Post

Nov 21, 2005

CMP Media announced today the promotion of Brian Fuller to publisher of EE Times (, effective immediately. Fuller will be responsible for the overall strategic vision of its print and online properties, building its global reach, increasing sales revenue, and marketing the EE Times brand. He will report to Paul Miller, senior vice president and group director of the CMP Media Electronics and Software Groups.

"Brian has been instrumental in transforming EE Times into the newsweekly for the creators of technology and has been key in introducing new ideas to the brand, from print features to video and audio online," Miller said. "He possesses a commanding mix of editorial experience and business savvy that will be invaluable as we elevate EE Times to the next level in publishing and editorial excellence."

Fuller's promotion is part of a broader reorganization within the Electronics Group at CMP Media that Miller announced last week. The new reorganization further signals CMP Media Electronics Group's continued success with and investment in its "Heads Up/Heads-Down" strategy, as the Group realigns its business and editorial strategy across its various print, online and event properties offering its readers, advertisers and strategic partners a fully integrated, comprehensive and truly unique messaging and media platform. "Heads Up/Heads Down" is a conceptualization of content delivery that addresses the intertwined nature of the electronics technology industry -- the people, events, technology, ideas and information that immediately affect the tech market, other markets, and our society-at-large.

"The next phase of EE Times' life will be dedicated to online expansion and multimedia as the publishing world continues to grapple with immense change," Fuller said. "I have no doubt that our staff -- with 400-plus years' experience in electronics journalism -- will continue to deliver timely, proprietary news and information for the most demanding readers in the world in more markets than ever."

A 22-year veteran journalist, Fuller joined EE Times as business editor and was named editor-in-chief in 2001. Fuller will continue to serve as editor-in-chief of EE Times until a replacement is found.

As part of the reorganization, George Leopold, Washington bureau chief and editor of the EE Times Online news organization, and his team, will report into the EE Times print organization. EE Times associate publisher David Blaza was named publisher of Embedded Systems Design, replacing Eric Berg, who took over a position in CMP Media's Custom Integrated Marketing Solutions group.
