CMP Media Electronics Group, the premier technology and business media brand serving the information needs of the creators of technology, today announced the launch of EE Times' new year- long editorial campaign "Great Minds, Great Ideas," highlighting the people, products and technologies that will change our world. The program will kick- off December 5, 2005 with a premiere special collectors' print edition and Web site, followed by an exhibitor pavilion and one-day editorial program at the 2006 International CES (Consumer Electronics Show), and a series of editorial NetSeminars in the first quarter of 2006. The program has received industry- wide endorsement from more than ten leading companies, such as Altera, Analog Devices, Inc., Digikey, Freescale, Philips Semiconductors, Infineon, Sonare Technologies, STMicroelectronics, Texas Instruments, Cadence, Quicklogic and Xilinx.

"Innovation is Altera's heritage and as it continues to run strong in our blood, our primary focus is to drive our customers' innovation," said Anna del Rosario, director of corporate communications for Altera. "Altera is proud to be a sponsor of EE Times' Great Minds, Great Ideas project celebrating the people behind the innovations that are changing our world,"

A significant milestone in the Great Minds, Great Ideas program will take place at the world's largest annual consumer electronics tradeshow, International CES, on January 5-8 in Las Vegas, where EE Times will host the Great Minds, Great Ideas Zone. The Great Minds, Great Ideas Zone is a 70- by 80-foot area in the Innovations Plus section of the Sands Expo and Convention Center featuring an exhibition of leading electronics companies as well as live panels highlighting the people and breakthrough innovations that will drive the consumer electronics products of the future.

EE Times will also launch a special Great Minds, Great Ideas Web site (www.eetimes.com/disruption), that will feature the complete print publication along with multimedia content unique to the site that focuses on the science of innovation, profiles of products, people or companies as nominated by editors and readers. An extension of the Great Minds, Great Ideas project, the site will also include a NetSeminar series called "The Zen of Disruption- Lessons from Leaders," focusing on the process of innovation. The six-part editorial seminar series will take place January through March of 2006 and consist of hour-long case histories on specific products, technologies or business practices that examine the process and culture of innovation.

Unlike previous marketing packages, EE Times' Great Minds, Great Ideas signals a paradigm shift in the industry, providing advertisers the opportunity to use different multimedia vehicles to best communicate their message as well as express their own company's and employees innovation and contribution to society.

"One of our primary goals is to elevate the brand of our audience -- the creators of technology -- to create visibility about how they influence our daily lives and express our appreciation for what they do," said Paul Miller, senior vice president and group director of the CMP Media's Electronics and Software Development Groups. "Great Minds, Great Ideas is the perfect forum to express appreciation to the creators of technology and for companies to associate themselves with the work these people -- the real "rock stars" of the global innovation economy -- those designers, managers, innovators whose work drives global economic markets and transforms popular culture."

Advertisers will be offered additional marketing opportunities in print, online and select events throughout the year. For more information on this unique program, please contact Tim Avila, group marketing director for CMP Media Electronics Group at tavila@cmp.com or 415-947-6653.
