CMP's Electronics Group Launches Newly Integrated TechOnline
Single, Search-Optimized Network for 'Heads Down' Design Resources Brings Together CMP Content and Innovative Capabilities Such as E-learning, Virtual Product Testing and Peer-to-Peer Networking
Oct 25, 2006
CMP Technology today announced the launch of the newly integrated TechOnline network (www.techonline.com), combining CMP Technology Electronics Group's design-related content with TechOnline's innovative new media capabilities such as e-learning, virtual product testing and peer-to-peer networking to offer a single, search- optimized network of design resources to creators of technology worldwide.
"We're dedicated to addressing our audience's changing needs and how they want to be informed, educated and connected, while delivering more value to the advertiser along the way," said Paul Miller, senior vice president and group publisher of CMP Technology's Electronics and Software Development Groups. "The newly integrated TechOnline represents a major milestone in our 'Heads Up/Heads Down' strategy, giving the creators of technology the resources they need to get their design work done."
TechOnline integrates all of CMP Technology Electronics Group's design- related content into a single, comprehensive network, with trusted design, reference, educational and product information as well as e-learning, virtual product testing and peer-to-peer networking capabilities:
-- Design -- Embedded.com, DesignLines, Planet Analog and CommsDesign -- Learn -- Webinars, TechOnline University Courses, VirtualLabs, eeProduct Center and Tech Papers -- Connect -- Network wide search, job search, peer-to-peer, user rating, and online events
The newly integrated network offers optimized CMP-wide and Web-wide search, powered by the latest technology, delivering relevant information from all source types, such as articles, white papers, Webinars and vendor product information. The growing importance of search in the engineer's design process was highlighted in CMP Technology's Spring 2006 Media Usage Survey of more than 4,000 worldwide engineers, where search engines were cited as most important source for "technical information, design ideas and application techniques."
TechOnline also gives advertisers the ability to engage more directly with their audience during the design process, where most brand and component decisions are made.
With a worldwide community of more than 420,000 registered end users that turn to TechOnline for practical information and services that help them to do their daily jobs, the newly integrated network is now home to all "Heads Down" design-related content and services. The move represents a major milestone in CMP Technology's Electronics Group's "Heads Up/Heads Down" content strategy -- to reach its audience with the right content and services in the right place at the right time.
