CMP Technology announced today the promotion of Richard Nass to editor in chief of Embedded Systems Design and editorial director of Embedded Systems Conferences and Embedded.com effective immediately. He will be responsible for editorial direction and leadership of CMP's fully integrated embedded portfolio -- Embedded Systems Design, Embedded Systems Conference (ESC) and Embedded.com.

"Richard's editorial leadership, industry experience and keen insight into the marketplace will enable us to remain at the forefront as the number one resource for embedded technology professionals," said David Blaza, publisher of Embedded Systems Design. "Richard's track record speaks for itself. With his invaluable experience in print, online and events, he's uniquely qualified to head CMP's embedded portfolio."

Most recently, Nass was managing editor of CMP Electronics Group's popular online DesignLine series. Before joining CMP, he spent six years as the editor in chief of Portable Design magazine, driving the editorial to new heights while launching a magazine and technical conference in China. Nass also previously served as a technology editor with Electronic Design magazine and earned a BSEE degree from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

"It's exciting to be involved with all aspects of the embedded industry," said Nass. "I'm deeply committed to our readers and strive to provide them with the information they need to excel in their own careers and to stay on top of their field -- whether it's a trend article in Embedded Systems Design, a how-to/applications article at Embedded.com or in-depth learning and information sharing sessions at the Embedded Systems Design Conferences."
