SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- UBM Tech, the daily source of essential business and technical information for the electronics industry's decision makers, has released details about the conference and expo programs for DesignCon 2013, which is scheduled to take place January 28-31 in Santa Clara, Calif.  The conference program will provide attendees with four full days of intensive technical learning and networking opportunities created by engineers for engineers, and includes 100+ in-depth tutorials, technical paper sessions and panel discussions divided into 14 tracks that address the pervasive nature of signal integrity at all levels of electronic design.     • Summary: This 40-minute speed-training event will present participants with five challenging signal integrity effect questions, which they will then debate, answer, and review as a group. 
  • "Countering Counterfeiters: Strategies for Detecting Fake Components & Insulating Your Supply Chain Against Counterfeits"
    • Time: 2:50-3:30pm 
    • Location: Chiphead Theater, Expo Hall
    • Speaker: Bolaji Ojo, editor in chief, EBN 
    • Summary: In part one of this two-part panel discussion presented by UBM Tech, a forensic expert on the identification and detection of counterfeits will demonstrate how to detect counterfeit components and outline actions that procurement professionals can take to avoid buying fake parts.  In part two, industry executives and experts will discuss how counterfeit parts enter the electronics supply chain, the potential impact of recent government regulations on OEMs, component suppliers and distributors, and best practices and collaborative activities that minimize incidents in the supply chain.
  • "Engineering: The Next Generation – Panel Discussion"
