Light Reading Names 2013 Leading Lights Award Winners

Awards party held on the eve of Ethernet & SDN Expo in New York

NEW YORK, Oct. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Light Reading, UBM Tech's market-leading online community for the global communications sector, has announced the winners of the 2013 Leading Lights awards, with the likes of Amdocs Inc., AT&T Inc., Cisco Systems Inc., IBM Corp. and Oracle Corp. amongst this year's victors. The winners of the Leading Lights, the industry's most prestigious awards, and the identities of the latest inductees to the Light Reading Hall of Fame, were revealed at a gala dinner held at The OUT NYC hotel in New York City ahead of the Ethernet & SDN Expo, which is collocated with the Interop New York show. IBM and AT&T jointly won the award for Most Innovative Carrier Cloud Service category, one of a number of new categories introduced for this year's awards, the ninth in the series.

Hundreds of entries were submitted from all over the world across 12 Leading Lights categories. "The quality and variety of submissions was enlightening and encouraging and shows there's plenty of innovation happening in the communications services market, as well as in the hardware and software product sectors," noted Light Reading editor-in-chief Ray Le Maistre.
