"Whether you've only used C++ for a year or are a top C++ guru, the Super C++ Tutorial is a rare opportunity for you to spend time with two world leaders in C++," said Karen Field, SVP Editorial Director, EE Times and GM, EE Live!.  "We are thrilled to bring Bjarne Stroustrup and Herb Sutter together to provide C++ developers with the key information they need to know in the coming year."

The C++ sessions include:

  • Super C++, Part 1 "Generic Programming and Concepts" will discuss the results of an effort to focus on the design of concepts and their use.  In addition it will focus on the design of language features to support the resulting concepts. This session will describe the problem, the approach to a solution, examples of concepts for the STL algorithms and containers, and show an initial design of language features as well as how to use a library implementation to test a design.
  • Super C++, Part 2 "A Standardization Overview" will give a summary of the new features coming in C++14 itself, and then a tour of the seven (7) near-term separate Technical Specifications already underway. The topics covered will be: C++14; File System TS; Library Fundamentals TS (small); Networking TS (small); Concepts Lite TS; Array Extensions TS; Concurrency TS; and Parallelism TS. This session will also give an overview of each set of features, what it looks like, how to use it, and why it's important for the standard.

Panel discussions will be hosted at the end of each day, during which attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn more tips and tricks from the masters.

Stroustrup is the designer and original implementer of C++ and the author of "Programming -- Principles and Practice using C++" and "The C++ Programming Language" (1985, 1991, 1997, 2000, 2013) and many popular and academic publications.  Stroustrup is a University Distinguished Professor at Texas A&M University and the holder of the College of Engineering Chair in Computer Science. He is a member of the US National Academy of Engineering, an IEEE Fellow, and an ACM fellow. His research interests include distributed systems, design, programming techniques, software development tools, and programming languages. He is actively involved in the ISO standardization of C++.

Sutter is a prominent C++ expert and has served as chair of the ISO C++ standards committee for a decade.  His is currently a software architect at Microsoft where he has been the lead designer of C++/CLI, C++/CX, C++ AMP, and other technologies.
