UBM Announces Executive Appointments to Fashion Group
New executive leadership marks an important step in UBM Advanstar's integration into UBM Americas' portfolio

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Effective immediately, UBM Americas, a part of UBM plc and the largest business-to-business events and trade show organizer in the U.S., has made several new appointments to its U.S.-based Fashion Group. This is an important step in the integration of Advanstar into UBM plc. UBM plc acquired Advanstar and its award-winning trade events in December 2014. The Fashion portfolio includes key biannual events such as MAGIC, PROJECT, Coterie, WWDMAGIC, FN Platform, [email protected] and Children's Club, among others.
The Fashion leadership appointments are as follows:
- Chris DeMoulin has been named Managing Director of Fashion for UBM Americas, reporting directly to Simon Foster, Chief Executive Officer, UBM Americas. Chris is a veteran of the events and entertainment industries, having most recently served as President of Licensing and Executive Vice President, Customer Development, Powersports and Automotive, for UBM Advanstar. Previously, he oversaw Advanstar's fashion business, serving as President of MAGIC from 2008–2012. Chris brings in-depth retail, fashion and marketing strategy experience from his years at Disney Consumer Products, where he served as Senior Vice President, Retail Alliances.
- Current President of UBM Advanstar Men's Fashion, Tommy Fazio, has been promoted to the role of President of Retail Fashion. Tommy will be developing and implementing a cohesive retail engagement strategy across the Fashion Group and continuing the development of new programs to connect retailers directly with exhibitors. Before joining Advanstar in 2012, Tommy held numerous senior positions at Nordstrom, Simon Spurr, Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus. He began his extensive career in the fashion industry with an eight-year tenure at Calvin Klein as Vice President, Men's Collection.
- Erik Ulin will be joining UBM Americas and taking up the position of President of Men's Fashion. Erik will oversee the Men's Fashion business including events MAGIC, Project, The Tents, The Collective and POOLTRADESHOW. Erik joins UBM Americas with more than 15 years of international business and fashion experience, most recently serving as President of J.Lindeberg USA. He additionally held positions with Sweden's Arthur D. Little and The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce.
Both Tommy Fazio and Erik Ulin will report to Chris DeMoulin.
