Software Development Magazine Opens Nominations for the 13th Annual Jolt Product Excellence Awards
11 Categories Honor Those Who Have 'Jolted' the Industry
Nov 8, 2002
Software Development's editors today announced that nominations for the 13th Annual Software Development Jolt Product Excellence Awards are now open. Each year Software Development partners with Jolt Cola to acknowledge those products, books and technologies that "jolt" the industry with their significance. The 2003 Jolt Award winners will be announced at the Software Development Conference & Expo, March 24 - 28, 2003 at the Santa Clara Convention Center.
Last year over 700 nominations for books, tools, technologies and web sites were submitted for the coveted trophies and this year's competition promises to be just as exciting. Editor in Chief Alexandra Weber Morales commented, "The products highlighted in the Software Development Jolt awards push the envelope of what's possible. We're extremely pleased with the increasing reader and industry response to this venerable competition. This year, the Software Development Jolt and Productivity Awards takes a two-pronged approach to honoring excellence in an expanding field."
The two tracks are: -- A juried vendor nominated track where vendors, publishers and other software makers nominate their own products. Jolt finalists will be evaluated in depth by the judges. -- A reader nominated track where readers (and judges) nominate favorite productivity-enhancing tools and books for a popularity-based Productivity Award and, potentially, for the Jolt Hall of Fame. The readers will be the voters. The winners will be determined by popular vote. The categories are: -- Books: Practical/General Developer Interest -- Books: Technical -- Business Integration and Data Tools -- Design and Analysis Tools -- Languages and Development Environments -- Libraries, Frameworks and Components -- Project Management Tools -- Testing Tools -- Utilities -- Web Services Tools -- Web Sites and Developer Networks
Nominations should be submitted online at -- https://www.sdmediagroup.com/view/jolts/jolt01.jsp .
Deadline for nominations is December 31, 2002.
