CMP's Dr. Dobb's Opens Nominations for the 18th Annual Jolt Product Excellence Awards
Prestigious Industry Awards will Honor the Best Software Development Products of 2007
Oct 23, 2007
Dr. Dobb's today announced that nominations for the 18th Annual Jolt Product Excellence Awards are now open. Each year, the Jolt Product Excellence Awards, sponsored by Dr. Dobb's, acknowledges those products, books and technologies that "jolt" the industry with their significance. Finalists will be announced in December 2007, and the Jolt Award winners will be announced on March 5, 2008 at SD West Conference & Expo at the Santa Clara Convention Center.
Last year more than 300 nominations for books, tools, and technologies were submitted for the coveted trophies, and this year's competition promises to be just as tough. "The Jolt judges look for the most innovative and useful products in each category," said Jolt Awards Manager Amber Ankerholz. "The winning Jolt products typically define a category or solve a problem in a new way."
This year's categories are: -- Books (Practical/General Developer Interest) -- Books (Technical) -- Change and Configuration Management Tools -- Collaboration Tools -- Database Engines and Data Tools -- Design and Modeling Tools -- Development Environments -- Enterprise Tools -- Libraries, Frameworks and Components -- Mobile Development Tools -- Project Management Tools -- Security Tools -- Testing Tools -- Utilities -- Web Development Tools -- Websites and Developer Networks
Nominations may be submitted online at http://www.joltawards.com/ until December 3rd, 2007.
