CMP Media's SD Events Group has announced the keynote line-up for its East coast conference, SD Best Practices, Sept 26-29, in Boston. Industry renowned author and consultant, Jerry Weinberg will address the audience on Tuesday, September 27th and MIT Co-Research Director Michael Schrage will deliver a keynote address on Monday, September 26th. During his opening keynote address on Monday, Sept 26th at 12:30 p.m., Michael Schrage will give a detailed look at the economics of software development. Schrage will show how simple economic techniques can have a positive impact on minimizing unproductive programming. Mr. Schrage is a columnist for CIO and Technology Review magazines, and a contributor to Wired, the Washington Post and the Harvard Business Review. His consulting work includes projects with Microsoft, Cisco, Intel, Proctor & Gamble, and Mars.

On Tuesday, September 27th, at 12:30 p.m., Jerry Weinberg will tackle a subject important to leaders in the software development industry -- dealing with real project dynamics. Weinberg will address why so many software projects go over budget or fail to meet their original requirements. Mr. Weinberg has written numerous software development books; is a winner of the Warnier Prize, the Stevens Award and a charter member of the Computing Hall of Fame.

Peter Kroll, Manager Commercial Methods at IBM will be delivering a keynote address on "Real World Trends Impacting Software Best Practices" on Monday, September 26th at 5:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, September 28th, at 12:30 p.m., Randy Miller, Lead Program Manager, Visual Studio 2005 Team System at Microsoft will give a keynote on "Managing the Software Lifecycle".
