John Foley Named Editor of CMP's InformationWeek

Chris Murphy Named Senior Executive Editor; Join Seasoned InformationWeek Editorial Management Team

InformationWeek, the leading IT media brand, today announced that John Foley has been named Editor of InformationWeek. Part of the staff since 1995, John has served in multiple roles around the brand and has spent the past few years launching new Web properties for InformationWeek, including the Windows Enterprise Electronic Newsletter and Windows Weblog. A 17-year veteran of business technology publishing, he brings his extensive print and online experience to his position as Editor and will work closely with InformationWeek's reporters and editors to ensure that the magazine remains the undisputed leader in the market. John will report to Editor-In-Chief Stephanie Stahl and replaces John Soat, who will become a webcast anchor for CMP Media's TechWeb. Soat will continue to work closely with InformationWeek on print and Web projects and will continue his popular "IT Confidential" column.

InformationWeek has also announced the promotion of Chris Murphy to Senior Executive Editor. In his new role, the 6-year InformationWeek veteran brings his strong news analysis skills that have helped keep InformationWeek at the forefront of industry trends. Murphy will be expanding his previous role as Executive Editor to encompass both print and online responsibilities.
