CMP Media's TechWeb Network Introduces a New Strategic Direction For InternetWeek.com
Website and Newsletter Focused on Four Core Areas
Feb 20, 2002
CMP Media's TechWeb Network, serving Business Technology professionals with purchasing power, (http://www.techweb.com/), today announced the re-launch of the InternetWeek.com web site and newsletter focused on the four proven areas of critical interest to both InternetWeek readers and advertisers: Supply Chain, Security, Web Development and IT Services.
In addition to refocusing the editorial content of the Website, InternetWeek.com will continue to publish its popular InternetWeek NewsBreak newsletter -- with coverage in the same four core areas -- to its 150,000 subscribers.
InternetWeek.com began publication in 1984 as the award-winning print magazine Communications Week and, in 1997, the magazine changed its name to InternetWeek. In January 2002, CMP Media ceased publishing the print magazine, shifting editorial and advertising attention to the publication's popular Website.
"We're excited to be continuing to deliver InternetWeek's unique content in a totally online format," said Mike Azzara, Director, Content Development, Business Technology Group. "We've tightened the editorial focus to only those areas considered most critical to the business technology professionals managing corporate America's Internet presence. And we've got InternetWeek's most knowledgeable and experienced editors on tap to produce it."
Rich Karpinski, formerly InternetWeek's Editor-at-Large, Online, and Tom Smith, the former Editor of InternetWeek, are Co-Editors of the new site and newsletter. Mr. Karpinsky and Mr. Smith will both report to TechWeb Editor-In-Chief, Fredric Paul.
