Today, CMP Media's TechWeb Network (http://www.techweb.com/) announced the launch of a new ad unit - the Dogear Peelback. This new unit provides advertisers with broad exposure of their brand messaging across the five largest TechWeb Network sites including InformationWeek, Network Computing, Network Magazine, InternetWeek, and TechWeb.

The Dogear Peelback is comprised of an animated graphic that resembles a folded over page corner, or dogear. It can be customized to include the client's logo or other creative. When a user 'mouses' over the dogear, the entire page peels back to reveal the customer's landing page behind the TechWeb Network news page. The effect is that advertisers are provided with a nearly full-page ad which is user initiated. (For a demo, view http://www.techweb.com/mediakit/dogear.html.)

Sun Microsystems was the first customer to use the new ad unit. It was used to promote the company's quarterly Network Computing web event. "Innovation is a vital component of Sun's corporate DNA, and we are constantly searching for new and effective forms of communications," said Ingrid Van Den Hoogen, Vice President of Brand Experience, Advertising and Global Communications, Sun Microsystems. "The Dogear Peelback provides a creative platform for Sun to capture the imagination and attention of our online audience, drive awareness and increase exposure to our targeted respondents."

"The TechWeb Network is constantly at work to provide advertisers with new and innovative ways to send their messages to their target audiences," said Amy Sklar, Online Publishing Director for CMP Media. "The Dogear Peelback is a perfect advertising opportunity for customers that want to build awareness and get a direct response."
