TechWeb's Light Reading (www.lightreading.com), the leading research-led media company serving the global communications marketplace, today announced the re-branding of its mobile and cable news and analysis sites to Light Reading Mobile (www.lightreading.com/lr-mobile) and Light Reading Cable (www.lightreading.com/lr-cable), from Unstrung and Cable Digital News, respectively.

Light Reading's mobile newsletters, Unstrung Daily and Unstrung Weekly, will now be called Light Reading Mobile Daily and Light Reading Mobile Weekly. And Light Reading's cable newsletter, Cable Digital News Weekly, will be called Light Reading Cable Weekly.

"Light Reading had acquired Unstrung and Cable Digital News over the last six years and has continued to invest in focused mobile industry and cable industry coverage targeted at the unique information needs of mobile carriers and cable companies and the equipment companies that serve them," says Joseph Braue, SVP/Group Director of Light Reading. "Bringing these sites closer to the Light Reading brand is just the final step of that investment process."

New publishers to lead refreshed sites

Todd Marquez, a cable industry veteran who was previously publisher of CED Magazine and has been Associate Publisher & Strategic Accounts Director at Light Reading, has been named Publisher of Light Reading Cable. Joanne Emery, a telecom industry veteran who was previously Associate Publisher of Telecommunications Magazine and is a Strategic Accounts Director at Light Reading, will be the Publisher of Light Reading Mobile.

Light Reading's mobile industry investments include acquiring the audience assets of RCR Wireless; its commitment to a strong partnership with CTIA Wireless, the leading wireless show in the US; hiring Berge Ayvazian, the former Yankee Group CEO and Chairman of the 4GWorld Conference, to head a 4G Consulting Practice at Heavy Reading; and its acquisition of Pyramid Research, the leading telecom market analysis firm covering mobile services market analysis in more than 100 markets around the world.

Light Reading Cable, led by Site Editor Jeff Baumgartner and Heavy Reading Cable Analyst Alan Breznik, is thriving, with Light Reading being the cable industry leader in online media, Webcasts, and focused, one-day conferences. Light Reading Cable also has great working relationships with the industry's leading cable organizations such as SCTE, ACA, NCTA, WiCT, MoCA, and CTAM.
