'Future of Cable Business Services' Event Breaks Records, Becoming Light Reading and Heavy Reading's Largest Cable Conference to Date

The Future of Cable Business Services, hosted by TechWeb's Light Reading (www.lightreading.com) and Heavy Reading (www.heavyreading.com), Light Reading's prestigious market research division, broke all records late last week as Light Reading's largest one-day cable conference yet.

Some 165 non-sponsored attendees attended the Dec. 3 show in New York, with cable operators and other service providers accounting for 53 percent of the total. Plus, more than 270 industry executives registered for the conference, greatly exceeding last year's total of 197 registrants.

In addition to the record number of attendees and registrants, The Future of Cable Business Services attracted a stellar speaker lineup of 11 cable operators and trade group executives, as well as seven technology equipment suppliers. Keynote speakers included: Phil Meeks, Vice President of Cox Business; and Denisse Goldbarg, Vice President of Marketing & Training for Time Warner Cable Business Class. The Future of Cable Business Services explored the promising opportunities for cable operators and tech equipment manufacturers in the ever-expanding, $130 billion-plus U.S. business telecom services market. It also addressed the latest growth trends in the enterprise market, the rising number of new, emerging business services, the wide variety of market strategies for cable operators and tech vendors, and the sizable technical and competitive challenges that MSOs face in pursuing this market. The conference featured lively panel sessions, debates, and keynotes, as well as a World Wide Keynote and Roundtable Webcast live from the Future of Cable Business Services show floor.
