Mar 4, 2003
CMP Media's TechWeb Network (http://www.techweb.com/), the network of business technology sites including InformationWeek, InternetWeek and Network Computing, today announced an agreement with eBay, The World's Online Marketplace™, to integrate the eBay Marketplace with NetworkComputing.com. By tapping into eBay's large marketplace of nearly 62 million registered users, NetworkComputing.com visitors can buy and sell new, used, refurbished and depreciated merchandise on eBay directly through the NetworkComputing.com website.
This relationship provides NetworkComputing.com visitors immediate access to over 39,000 infrastructure, 33,000 printer, 35,000 desktops and 45,000 software products through the site's Electronics & Computers category. NetworkingComputing.com visitors can buy and sell their own products; browse products by category, region, or name; and have full access to all eBay services, such as shipping and freight management, buyer/seller warranties, and discussion boards, all from within the NetworkComputing.com site.
"NetworkComputing.com readers buy a lot of technology and often require instant access to hardware and software," said Brad Shimmin, editor in chief, NetworkComputing.com Online. "By integrating the eBay marketplace within our site content, we will provide our readers with an efficient tool that will let them cut through the red tape and solve business problems in real-time."
The TechWeb Network 2003 audience survey shows that frequent NetworkComputing.com visitors, who are involved in the technology purchase process, expect to purchase on average $27 million each in technology in 2003.
