CMP Media's TechWeb Network today announced the launch of Managing Offshore, the first online publication targeted at solving the complex information needs of executives involved in global sourcing issues. Available by paid subscription only, Managing Offshore analyzes and provides reports on the global sourcing of services including application development, application maintenance, infrastructure, business process outsourcing, and call/contact centers.

Managing Offshore provides in-depth reports on topics such as on how to find the best global locations for companies, explorations of local markets, as well as on cost-reduction and moving jobs overseas. Each issue contains two main reports as well as content authored by notable experts. Managing Offshore will be published twelve times per year.

"Offshoring has morphed from being a tactical solution into a strategic imperative for success in today's economy," said Rusty Weston, founding editor, Managing Offshore and editor, InformationWeek Research for CMP Media. "Managing offshore business operations involves honing a complex set of skills unlike anything else in the corporate world. Managing Offshore provides readers with the information they need to succeed."

Managing Offshore is edited by Rusty Weston. Weston's background blends journalism and research in the fluid world of Information Technology. A 20 year veteran journalist, Weston also directs InformationWeek magazine's editorial studies, including the InformationWeek 500, Optimize Executive Reports and the nation's largest IT compensation study, among other products. Weston began fielding global studies in 1999, including the Global Information Security survey, one of the largest of its kind. InformationWeek Research data appears in some of the nation's most prestigious academic journals and has been cited by CNN and USA Today among other leading media. Until recently, Weston managed InformationWeek.com, which received the Jesse Neal Award in 2001, one of the nation's most prestigious journalism honors.

The May issue of Managing Offshore covers why global sourcing managers almost always select vendors that boast certifications in process disciplines and analyzes the rise of sourcing contracts known as hybrids that appeal to managers and vendors because they combine the best of fixed and variable pricing strategies. The publication's editors will also debut the Managing Offshore Index, featuring 20 of the largest and most influential companies in the burgeoning offshore outsourcing space.

In the coming months, Managing Offshore will spotlight groundbreaking market research and report on innovations in offshore relationships. Each month the publication will publish one or more columns by thought leaders in the realm of contract law, project management, change management, intercultural strategies and regulatory issues among other core areas of concern.

Subscription rates for Managing Offshore are $495 per year. To download a free copy of the May issue or to subscribe, go to www.ManagingOffshore.com.
