Interop® Las Vegas 2007, produced by CMP Technology, today announced that Extreme Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: EXTR) will be the premier network hardware provider of the InteropNet event network for the eighth consecutive year. The complete list of InteropNet participants was also announced. Interop Las Vegas 2007 will be held May 20-25 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. For a complete schedule of all educational sessions, keynote addresses and participating exhibitors, please visit http://www.interop.com/.

The InteropNet network must support a wide range of applications and connectivity services, including voice, video and data for thousands of demanding attendees and sponsoring exhibitors who look to Interop to demonstrate the pinnacle of business IT performance and integration.

To achieve this, the InteropNet will use Extreme Networks' leading-edge network infrastructure running on the modular and extensible ExtremeXOS™ network operating system. The InteropNet will leverage best-in-class security solutions and scalable and resilient Ethernet switching from Extreme Networks' award-winning BlackDiamond® and Summit® platforms. These solutions work together to smoothly handle all voice, video and data applications throughout the event while protecting the infrastructure from outside threats.

The InteropNet is built in collaboration with leading vendors and hand- selected products that are ready to meet the ultimate networking challenge. The InteropNet is implemented as a two-tier network, with a 10 Gigabit core featuring Extreme Networks' BlackDiamond® switches and Summit stackable switches that provide support for IP Telephony with Power over Ethernet in conjunction with redundant hardware features that deliver increased availability at the edge.

"Extreme Networks takes pride in being selected again to build the backbone and edge of the InteropNet, a unique network that truly demonstrates the latest advances in the industry," said Paul Hooper, vice president of marketing for Extreme Networks. "Our network solutions work seamlessly with components from other vendors to deliver the insight and control that is necessary to create a predictable, high performance and secure infrastructure that everyone can rely upon."

"Year after year, the InteropNet is designed and built via the collaboration of the industry's most resourceful and dynamic network professionals, providing attendees with a functional demonstration of networking excellence," said Lenny Heymann, Interop General Manager. "This year's hand-selected list of distinguished participants will ensure that Interop continues to lead the industry in network innovation, even in the face of changing business practices."

Interop Las Vegas attendees will have the opportunity to take free, engineer-led tours of the InteropNet throughout the exhibition and gain a practical, behind-the-scenes view. Tours start at the InteropNet Network Operations Center (NOC) and are scheduled to run at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm, Tuesday, May 22 and Wednesday, May 23; and at 11:00 am only, Thursday, May 24.
