Co-location of the Two Events Mirrors Software and Infrastructure's Joint Role in Achieving Ubiquitous Connectivity

CMP Technology today announced it will integrate Software 2008, the industry's largest vendor-neutral gathering of software leaders, with Interop Las Vegas 2008, North America's largest business technology event. The co-location of the two events reflects the interdependence of software and hardware in today's business technology environment, providing everyone -- from buyers to sellers of technology -- a single stage to participate in the conversation.

Coming on the heels of Software 2007, the most successful software event in the conference's history, the convergence of these two shows will provide the 20,000 plus expected attendees of Interop 2008 a one-stop shop for the leading software and infrastructure innovations. As businesses increasingly depend on ubiquitous connectivity and enhanced collaboration, there is a greater need for one forum to address the entire technology ecosystem enabling these trends.

"The lines between software and infrastructure are blurring, and innovation is dependent on the integration of the two," said Lenny Heymann, Interop General Manager. "Our integration of the industry's leading software and infrastructure events is a natural progression that better serves the business technology professionals who live at the intersection of these two worlds every day."

For 22 years Interop has been the premier event for business technology professionals seeking to understand how to implement technologies to enhance business efficiency. Interop has expanded its boundaries this year to examine a broader range of emerging business and consumer technologies -- including Enterprise 2.0, Green IT, Muni Wireless and more -- and how they intersect with existing business IT. As a co-located event, Software 2008 will expand Interop's industry-leading program yet again, highlighting how software continues to be the key enabling technology across all industries.

Though the co-location of these two CMP-owned events reflects a natural shift, CMP is taking measures to ensure it retains the quality of content, networking and intimacy that designates the Software Conference. The show will maintain its vendor-neutral nature, which enables trends to be discussed candidly, the agenda to remain highly focused, and allows software vendors, services and customers to gather together in one forum.

"Just as joining forces with CMP Technology enabled Software 2007 to better motivate the software industry to come together and move the market forward, teaming up with Interop 2008 will introduce the show and its sponsors to an even larger audience of CIOs and IT buyers," said M.R. Rangaswami, Founder and Executive Conference Director, Software 2007.

Both events will be held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. Interop 2008 will run from April 27-May 2, and Software 2008 will take place April 28-29 of that week.
