New Government Agencies and Top Industry Firms Join the Bench of Innovators at Gov 2.0 Expo

  --  Gov 2.0 Expo announces the latest updates of speakers, panelists,
      sessions, and workshops to its extensive program with top government
      and industry innovators.
  --  New speakers and panelists include:
      --  The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's senior advisor for telework
          Danette Campbell and U.S. Office of Personnel Management's deputy
          chief of staff Justin Johnson will join nextgov.com's executive
          editor Allan Holmes and Inc. magazine's senior writer Max Chafkin
          as speakers at the session "Teleworking: Out of Office but Not
          Offline."
      --  The panel "Encouraging Citizen Feedback and Employee Engagement:
          Two Case Studies" will feature the U.S. Department of Veterans
          Affairs' senior adviser to the secretary and chief technology
          officer Peter Levin, and the U.S. General Services
          Administration's public dialogue specialist Dan Munz.
      --  The National Institute of Standards and Technology's senior
          computer scientist Peter Mell, Cisco's director of cloud and
          virtualization solutions Christopher Hoff, and InformationWeek's
          senior editor Nick Hoover will get together to talk about
          "Security in the Cloud."
      --  Brookings Institute's Darrell West is a new panelist joining the
          U.S. Army's deputy CIO/G-6 Michael Krieger, State of California's
          director of eServices for the Office of the CIO Carolyn Lawson,
          and InformationWeek's editor John Foley for the session "Finding
          Value in the Cloud."
      --  The panel "An Approach Toward Collective Intelligence" adds more
          participants, now including the San Jose Chief of Police Rob
          Davis, Microsoft's evangelist Jon Udell, CrimeReports.com's Greg
          Whisenant, G&H International Services, Inc.'s Robert Greenberg,
          and the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative and STAR-TIDES' John
          Crowley.
      --  The panel "The Business of Being Open" will now include
          Microsoft's chief technology officer for the company's federal
          civilian business Susie Adams, IBM Federal's chief technology
          officer for the company's U.S. federal government unit David
          McQueeney, Adobe's director of government solutions Rob Pinkerton,
          Sunlight Labs' director Clay Johnson, and The Economist online's

      --  The World Wide Web Consortium's Tim Berners-Lee speaks with
          Information Policy and Services Directorate of the UK's National
          Archives's John L. Sheridan, FutureGov's Dominic Campbell, and
          Chris Thorpe of The Guardian's Open Platform in the new panel,
          "Four Perspectives on Data.gov.uk."
      --  The Defense Information Systems Agency's William (Bill) Balko, the
          Central Intelligence Agency's Don Burke, the U.S. Department of
          Defense's senior strategist for emerging media Jack Holt, the
          Science and Technology Policy Institute, IDA's research staff
          member David Bray, and TASC's strategic advisor Joe Boutte will
          join in the new session "Shifting from Need-To-Know to
          Need-To-Share."
      --  The new panel "Open City/Open 311" will bring together Boston City
          Hall's co-director of innovation Nigel Jacob, the Government of
          the District of Columbia's chief technology officer Bryan Sivak,
          SeeClickFix's founder and chief executive office Ben Berkowitz,
          and OpenPlans' program manager Philip Ashlock. The panel will be
          moderated by Code for America's Jennifer Pahlka.
      --  The Government of the District of Columbia's chief technology
          officer Bryan Sivak will speak at the new session "Creating the
          Agile Government."
      --  O'Reilly Media, Inc.'s Tim O'Reilly, Code for America's Jennifer
          Pahlka, Matthew Burton from Matthew Burton LLC and former
          intelligence analyst, and OpenPlans' program manager Philip
          Ashlock gather for a new session called "Gov Tech Clinic: Bring Us
          Your Problems."
      --  Acquia's Kieran Lal will speak at a new workshop titled
          "Introduction to Government Social Publishing with Drupal."
      --  The new session "Demonstrations of Innovative Tech for Civic Good"
          will discuss how open source and crowd sourcing technologies can
          help organizations during disaster response situations, and will
          include I-SITE's Ian Cross, Icosystem, Inc's Paolo Gaudiano,
          Ushahidi's Patrick Meier, and CrowdFlower's Lukas Biewald.
      --  National Public Radio's Andy Carvin will be moderating the new
          session "Collaborate, Build, Deploy, Repeat: The Next-Generation
          Emergency Response Platform," which will include Noel Dickover, a
          supporter to the U.S. Department of Defense chief information
          officer office on social software and emerging technology and
          co-founder of CrisisCommons. Other executives joining the session
          include Patrick Meier from Ushahidi, John Crowley from
          Star-Tides/Strong Angel, Heather Blanchard from CrisisCommons, and
          Walton Smith, principal at Booz Allen Hamilton.
  --  Under the theme "Participation, Collaboration, and Transformation,"
      the event will provide government employees, contractors and members
      of the press access to practical tools, in-depth training, and
      industry contacts needed to transform the 21st century government.

      be held in May 25-27, 2010 in the Walter E. Washington Convention
